We're seeking a Junior Fullstack Engineer (w/m/d) to join our Engineering team in Berlin.


This is a hybrid position, requiring 2 days in the office.

Start date - as soon as possible


Your mission in a nutshell:

You will assist in designing, building, and evolving backend and frontend systems that power our digital health platform, contributing to multiple services and domains while learning to take ownership of features end-to-end.

How you will spend your time:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain applications.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code.

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes.

  • Assist in the integration of frontend and backend components.

  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack.

What you should bring to the table:

Frontend:

  • Experience building user interfaces with React (or similar modern frontend frameworks).

  • Basic understanding of state management and component data flow.

  • Experience working with APIs and handling asynchronous data (e.g. fetching and displaying data).

  • Interest in writing clean, maintainable, and well-structured code.

  • Initial exposure to testing (e.g. unit, integration, or E2E) or willingness to learn.

  • Awareness of code quality and developer tooling (e.g. linters, formatting tools).

  • Motivation to learn and grow as a frontend engineer.

Backend:

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience with backend development in Java. We also use TypeScript/JavaScript as a part of our tech stack (e.g. through studies, internships, or personal projects).

  • Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring Boot or similar backend technologies.

  • Basic understanding of APIs and how client-server communication works.

  • Exposure to databases (e.g. SQL, relational databases).

  • Interest in cloud platforms (e.g. AWS or similar) and how backend systems are deployed.

  • Familiarity with version control (e.g. Git) and basic development workflows.

  • Awareness of CI/CD or DevOps concepts (or willingness to learn).

  • An interest in writing clean, maintainable, and testable code.


General:

  • A proactive mindset with motivation to learn and grow as a fullstack engineer.

  • Good communication skills in English and a collaborative attitude.

Interview process

If your application progresses positively, you will be invited to participate in our hiring process, which includes the following stages:

  • Initial screening call with a recruiter (up to 45 minutes)

  • Technical interview with the Engineering Manager and Senior Engineer (up to 90 minutes)

  • Team interview with Engineering Director and another team member (if possible on-site, up to 60 minutes)

Please note: our offices close over the Christmas and New Year period for approximately two weeks. We gift the 24th and 31st December as extra vacation days and any additional non-public holiday days during this time will be taken from your annual leave.
